This data captures votes in the United Nations General Assembly from 1946-2008. Please read the documentation carefully to understand what is and what is not included and how this data relates to earlier available data. These datasets do not include "Affinity of Nations" measures but such measures can be constructed from these data. You may find ready Affinity of Nations data from Erik Gartzke's web-site: http://dss.ucsd.edu/~egartzke/. William Reed, Dave Clark, Timothy Nordstrom, and Wonjae Hwang have ideal point estimates from a Bayesian analysis available based on their 2008 JOP article: http://web.utk.edu/~whwang/jop08.html
